ALL OVER Selected for Readers’ Theatre Series of National Black Theatre Festival

July 13 New York – Garland Lee Thompson, Executive Director of New York’s Frank Silvera Writers’ Workshop, Inc. annouced today the works to be included in the 2011 National Black Theatre Festival Readers’ Theatre Series of New Works.

Jamie J. Brunson’s play, ALL OVER, has been selected on the “A” list of the Readers’ Theatre Series of New Plays. The selection process is very competitive, with an “A” & “B” list (backup) of play selections for the limited number of available reading dates during the Festival week.

More than 55,000 people are expected to attend the National Black Theatre Festival on August 1-6, 2011 in Winston-Salem, NC. As part of the Festival, the Readers’ Theatre Series will present over 25 new play readings between August 2- 5, 2011. Schedules will be posted for the High Noon Series (11:30a.m.) and the Theatre Conversations at Midnight Series (11:30 p.m.) in the selected conference rooms at the host hotel for the Festival (Marriott.)

The Readers’ Theatre Series of New Plays is coordinated by Mr. Thompson and represents the future new works of the American Black Theatre Movement and performing arts. It shall be a Living Memorial & Legacy to the late Festival founder, Larry Leon Hamlin. For more information about attending the festival, please visit the website at http://www.nbtf.org.
