All Over – A Blues Play Has A Successful Reading at the National Black Theatre Festival!

Winston-Salem, NC – All Over – A Blues Play by Jamie J. Brunson received a staged reading at the National Black Theatre Festival Readers’ Theatre of New Work on Thursday, August 4th. The play was presented as part of the Midnight Theatre Conversations Series to a full house of Festival participants. The reading was directed by Melinda J. Morais, a New York director and actor now based out of Florida. The cast included: Don W. Newton, Will Nash, Kalilah Black, Kaci Fannin, Larry Moses, and Monet Marshall. The Readers’ Theatre of New Work is coordinated by The Frank Silvera Writers’ Workshop in New York. Segments of the reading were filmed as part of an upcoming documentary about the National Black Theatre Festival by Los Angeles-based filmmaker, Karamu Kush. All Over is supported by a generous grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts with funding provided by the National Endowment for the Arts.
